The Reel

Designed to set a new benchmark in fishing reels in its class, the
Shimano Vanquish 4000 FB XG Spinning Reel is the
lightest reel with extremely low inertia and high sensitivity to
comply with the perfection demands of the modern fisho. By using
unique Magnumlite rotor design, Shimano achieved light rotation of
the spool and the high sensitivity is brought about by the
combination of Silent Drive and Micromodule Gear 2. The combination
between all these features enable a dreamy state, where you will
experience seamless gear engagement and superb rotation lightness
only found in this reel.

X-Ship
By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with the S-ARB bearings
and integrating bigger drive gear, Shimano increased the gearing
efficiency and power. This results in a fishing reel with
ultra-light handle rotation; less effort and power giving a perfect
rotation even under heavy loads.

HAGANE Body
Hagane Body means this reel has high rigidity and zero twist. The
body stiffness and impact resistance virtually eliminate body
flexing. The result transforms the anglers actions directly into

HAGANE Gear
Hagane Gear is at the very heart of the reel and creates strength
and durability. The entire cold-forging process is calculated in

The Rod

Direct from Shimano JDM range, the new Shimano Lunamis S80M Spinning Rod is specifically developed to target Hapuku. This high-end rod is a concentrate of Shimano’s latest technologies: an ultimate level of lightweight and sensitivity is reached thanks to Spiral X Core blank, Carbon Monocoque handle, Ci4+ Perfection reel seat and a combination of Shimano X Guide and Fuji Titanium SiC guides.

Spiral X Core
Spiral X core uses carbon infinity tape wrapped in opposing directions up the inside and outside of the blank. The carbon infinity tape utilises Toray Nano Alloy technology to increase torsional and structural rigidity by 10-15 without adding extra weight to the blank.

Hi-Power X
In Hi-Power X construction, the blank’s outermost layer is diagonally wrapped with carbon tape, which forms an array of “X” shapes. The width of the tape, its winding angle and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish species. The flexibility allows Shimano to adjust these wraps during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control by the angler.

Nano Pitch
Shimano uses a manufacturing method that wraps the moulding tape used in the process of baking blanks at an extremely fine pitch. Since the blanks are tightened with more uniform pressure, the roundness is increased, which greatly contributes to higher strength.

Carbon Monocoque
The Carbon Monocoque is an integrated hollow rear grip that is made from carbon. This advanced design removes the need for other materials to be wrapped on to the blank, is extremely lightweight, and offers excellent transfer of vibration from the blank to the hand. When compared with existing grips, the Carbon Monocoque is up to 10g lighter and increases sensitivity by up to 130%, enabling you to feel every vibration of a lure and the exact moment a fish attacks. Extensive testing has delivered excellent results producing outstanding performance, and the Carbon Monogrip design gives Shimano more options to develop much more sensitive rods for many other fishing disciplines.
